Delicious 3-ingredient Cat Treat Recipes
Making healthy treats for your cats is easy and can be done without using any complicated recipes! Your feline friends enjoy their regular food every day, but treats can be used when you’re trying to train your furry pet. And, just like us humans, treats can act as a major pick-me-up on some stressful and hectic days, so why not give our cats some extra love! Here are some easy cat treats recipes to follow.
1. Salmon bites
If your cat is a salmon lover, this is the one recipe you cannot miss!
What do you need?
- 10 ounces of undrained salmon
- 1 egg
- 2 cups of whole wheat flour
How to make:
Grind the salmon thoroughly in a mixer till it is fine and then add the egg and whole wheat flour to this mix to make it an even cookie dough. You may need to add some water to this if you think the moisture from the salmon is not enough. Once the dough is formed, roll it out to a thickness of about a quarter of an inch and cut it into any shape you like. Bake these for 20 minutes for about 350 degrees till the crust turns slightly brown.
2. Baked chicken meatball treats
What do you need?
- Half a cup of ground chicken
- One-third cup of oat flour
- 1 teaspoon of parsley
How to make:
Mix all these ingredients together thoroughly to make a nice dough. You want to now break this dough into small bite-sized balls that would be comfortable for your cat. Once you’ve made the balls, you can then place these on a baking sheet with about half an inch of distance between each other, so they don’t stick together. Make sure the oven is at 350 degrees, and you keep them in for about 15 minutes. You can check the consistency of the baked meatballs and see if it needs to be in the oven for a couple more minutes and your homemade cat treat is ready!
3. Tuna balls
Tuna is a cat-favorite, so this recipe will probably be a hit with your feline buddies. You can check if you could probably replace tuna with any other kind of fish.
What do you need?
- 6 ounces of undrained tuna
- 1 cup of cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- One-third cup of water
How to make:
In a big bowl, mix all the above ingredients thoroughly. Mix it together till it forms a big dough that can be divided into smaller bite-sized balls to be baked; they can be half an inch in size. Once you have these tuna balls ready, you can place them on a baking sheet and put them inside the oven. With the oven hot at 350 degrees, you can put these in for 20 minutes. Check if they are baked through, and you’re ready with some yummy treats!
